Why board and skim instead of re-plaster?

Faster, cleaner, often cheaper, especially on bad walls where wet plaster would just crack again.

Can I add insulation?

Yes, thermal-backed boards are available and we recommend them on cold external walls.

Will the room be smaller?

Boarding adds about 20 to 50mm depending on the spec. Worth it for the finish in most cases.

How long does it take?

A typical room is one day to board, one day to skim, then drying time before paint.
